Martha's bio is coming soon!
Stephanie is a graduate of the Yoga Center of Minneapolis' Yoga Teacher Training Program. Stephanie has always had an attraction to yoga; however, it was not until choosing beginning yoga over woodworking in a Community Ed brochure that her passion was fully ignited. Stephanie has also completed Thai Yoga Bodywork training under Tanya Sowards of Thai Yoga Bodywork in Minneapolis. Time off her mat is spent studying to become a high school English teacher, completing her Naturalist certification and being wonder-filled by so very many things. "Yoga is for every body and everyone. The practice of yoga transforms us by allowing everything that is not us to fall away -- on our mats our inner brilliance is reflected back to us, and we carry that light with us into the world."
Lucinda A. Pepper, founder of Embodied Health
Lucinda has been studying and practicing yoga since 1992, and began teaching in 2005, through the encouragement of her teacher and mentor Kitty Kuluvar. Lucinda completed the Feel Your Best Yoga Teacher Training in 2006. Lucinda teaches a blended form of Hatha Yoga that includes elements of Viniyoga (therapeutic, individual emphasis), Iyengar (alignment), and Ashtanga (core strength). Lucinda incorporates mindfulness meditation, somatic tracking skills, and a strong focus on yoga ethics, philosophy, and life guidance (including the 8 limbs of yoga) into each class. Lucinda creates yoga classes as safe containers to hold each student's individual yoga experience.
Lucinda's classes and personal sessions utilize yoga therapeutically to address and heal, whether from injuries, from the weariness of life, or from the symptoms of trauma. Lucinda is a yoga ambassador, inspiring others to bring yoga to communities that commonly face barriers to accessing yoga as a tool for health and wellness. "Yoga is one of many tools that create community. When people come together for yoga practice, we experience our unique selves united in common experience with others. I have seen connections between individuals in a yoga class setting inspire involvement in community outside of the studio. Yoga helps people find joy in daily life, and is a catalyst to create healing from physical, emotional, and social traumas. My livelihood involves creating space for people to come together and practice yoga, nurturing individual health, and inspiring people to create healthy, whole communities."
